Hardworking, serene and drunk

Recently published international study shows that Finland is pretty poor country, 3rd poorest of all 24 industrial countries. This is really interesting result if we think about the other recently done studies which tell that Finland is shining on the top when comparing the positive values.

Finland is the world's most incorruptible country, one of the most competitive countries, the best one in considering the environmental issues in economical development. Pupils in Finland are the smartest in the world and the speed of employment in the age over 55 is rising fastest in Europe, equality between man and woman have a third best situation in the world. Finland lays on the top of innovative and new technology field in all world, we invest in research and development more than other countries in Europe. Finland is rated as tenth international country, which goes well with the fact that Finland is the world's best place to study in. Finnish people are happy with their lives and they are sixth happiest people in the world. Finland belongs to the elite group if unstressfull life, vitality and serenity are measured in European countries.

Almost all the results seem to be positive ones, but what happens when we combine them? After these studies we get a figure of hardworking, modern and adaptable folk.
Educational system brings up the super-intelligent people who push the overaged and less efficient people from their way bringing more efficiency to working life. But rising of efficiency is not as physically stressfull for us as for south-European people. Also we believe that strict and hardworking will be good for our future, we are not afraid of China or India ruining our future workplaces. We know languages and find our way in international economy. We are able to produce nature-friendly products with reasonable price and good quality. Finnish people have critical attitude toward anything foreing. We have to stand on our own feet and look after European Union the same way parents look after their kids.

We are doing fine, and this combination of results don't give any reason to think about finns' weak self-confidence. But what do we get from all this economical overdo? If property is measured we are having low rate, but one of the highest taxation in the all world. And those who can't keep up with this, are lifting up the rate of alcohol-consume and suicide to the top in all Europe.
